Saposhnikovia Divaricata(also known as Ledebouriella Seseloides, SD) is known as 'bangpung' in Korean and belongs to the Umbelliferae. It grows in sand on the beach and is distributed throughout Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Kuril Island, Sakhalin, and near sea of Okhotsk. S. divaricata contains essential oils, mannitol, bitter glycoside, chromones, polysaccharides and organic acids and helps relieve cold, fever, sweating, headaches, stroke, paralysis, etc.. This extract inhibits production of nitric oxide(considered as a pro-inflammatory mediator that induces inflammation) and it can be used as cosmetic ingredient for anti-inflammatory.
